The ultimate accessory

I haven’t been in the mood for writing lately…actually I haven’t been in the mood for anything, I’m kind of just sitting around watching my life pass in front of me…hmmm, that sounds a little bit dramatic

Coming back to the subject, as you all know women like to dress up, put on makeup and do all it takes to look good, even if it involves excruciating pain (girls you know what I’m talking about) or an enormous sum of money …BUT the truth is that the ultimate accessory for a woman…ya, wait for it…wait for it… is… a totally gorgeous man. He is the cherry on top of the cake…each woman deserves one, but who are we kidding here, there aren’t enough men for all of us so let’s not talk about the gorgeous ones who are practically extinct (no offense guys).

Why did I brought this up?...as I was walking around Piata Romana a few minutes ago I saw a very nice couple, both tall an slim, but as I was checking them out I observed a slightly evil, full of satisfaction smile on her face as she was holding tightly with both arms his left hand. Maybe she loved him, maybe she didn’t, but the fact was that that guy completed her and she was showing that to everyone else.

2 days and 950 km later:)

Last weekend we succeeded to go ahead with our planed road trip. The main plan was to leave bucharest around 9 am saturday morning and to get back...when we arrived:))

With a lot of help from the weather, the sky cleared up by the end of the week after some very rainy days, 11 persons in 3 cars left for Cluj Napoca Saturday morning. The route was: Bucharest-Pitesti-Ramnicu Valcea-Sibiu-Alba Iulia-Cluj Napoca and back.

There is not much to tell, the main idea is that cluj napoca was a little bit disappointing, but we had the chance to discover the wonderful salt mine from Turda...I will leave the photos to do all the "talking"....

...on the road...

...the fortress of Alba Iulia...

...the statue of Mihai Viteazu...

...pub 13, a great place to eat, Excalibur stile:)...

...the amazing Salt mine...

Until next time...

Days 11 and 12

I will present these days together because first of all they were a weekend and because on the 11th we didn't do almost anything. As we were behind with the sleeping we took advantage of the fact that it was raining and we over slept...we got up around 1 o'clock Saturday and we decided to go and check out Stavanger. Despite the rain that would have been a great idea if the shops wouldn't have closed around 4:))...so, what can I say...that day was reserved to rest and interacting with our hosts.

After all the stories we have heard and photos we had seen about Kjerag we (mostly me and Alex) decided that it deserved to take a chance with the weather and try to get there. Unfortunately for us next day, was Sunday, even worse...everything is closed!!! So the only possibility to get there was by car...car which we had to rent of course.

So we went to bed with the conviction that we had to get up there...next day, as I was the only one with the driving license on me, I went to the Stavanger Sola Airport to rent a car...I rented a nice, pretty new VW Polo and around 1 o'clock we were on our way.

Did I mention the fact that when we left it was raining...small detail. If you saw the pictures from Preikestolen you can imagine that climbing those kind of rocks is not recommended on rain...but we did not give up, so a few hours later and over 150km we were at the base of the mountain. The premises were not in our advantage...rainy, fogy and cold, and despite all the warnings from the people coming back after failing to get to the top we still did not give up...and that is how we began climbing the mountains, barely seeing the route mark.

Of course when we were high enough the fog was so thick that we just could see 2-3m in front and we had to give up. At the end we were wet to our bones and we had to drive back home in our underwear...we were even imagining what story that would have been if the police would have stopped us and we were all half naked:))

Even if we did not see the top at least we can say we tried.

Love u. Take care.

Day 10

Now that I fixed the order of the events we have reached the greatest day of them all: the 10th of September.

Before leaving for the trip I had consulted with some Norwegian friends on what we should see in our days in Norway and even though there were a lot of suggestions we chose to go to Preikestolen and Kjeraag and to admire the wonderful Lysefjord. My friends also gave us the opportunity to stay at one of their relatives in Gandaal, a nice little city near Stavanger. So the plan was that we get there Friday, the 10th, exhausted from the night on the train (we did not have sleeping seats) sleep most of the day and with brand new powers do all we had planned in one day:))) silly us...

We arrived in Gandaal around 8, we met Toborg and Mark and their beautiful 8 months year old baby girl and after a little talk with them we realized that each one of our objectives will take one day. So we decided to head right to Preikestolen.

I will skip the little details, like Cata forgetting his train pass at home, almost loosing the ferryboat and waiting an hour for the bus, and get right to the pictures. Ahhhh...one more thing we did almost 2 hours to the top of the mountain and about an hour approximately 200 pictures, the view was absolutely amazing.

As you can see the "little" rock has a crack and local people expect it to fall any time now an create a huge tsunami on the fjord:))....great we got to see it:))

Love u. Take care.
